Hi! I'm Amy, one of your co-hosts for this blog. I'm super excited to be a Fit Lit Mom!
I'm pretty excited to be a lit anything, actually! In fact, my life is mostly ordinary.
I'm a suburban mom-of-three housewife, stay at home mom, and wannabe ninja.
I spend most of my days grocery shopping, doing laundry, wrangling dogs and driving
my kids around. Mostly ordinary.

Here's where my life gets a little different.
My youngest of 3 is autistic. Most days, if you asked me how we're different from any
other family, I would say that we aren't. But there are a few ways, things you might not
even notice if you aren't looking for them, that make us a little unusual.

We entertain a LOT. For those of you who grew up in the early nineties, my mom says
our house is like Chandler and Monica's. We always have people here. We love having
friends around, but there are also a couple of reasons that's easier for us. In our own
home, we know where all the exits are and we're always alert for that chime that means
there's a door open. Our house is full of safe sensory spaces and retreats - we've had
to make a few too many early exits from friends' homes due to sensory intolerances.
But as a result, our home and hearts are always full. We're blessed to have friends who
accomodate our needs and love our quirks.
Fitness works a little differently for me too. My kiddo doesn't do gym daycare, so I
exercise at home - luckily, I have supportive friends there too, and a whole fitness
community and support system. My life is mostly ordinary, but it's also extraordinarily
blessed, and I'm so excited to share it with you!
